Hands-on Review: Babycook Food Maker

When my first baby was born, my dear husband gave me a present. It was a baby food maker. At first I didn't know much about it so I didn't use it often. But after a while I found out all the privileges of this gadget.

First of all it makes healthy food. I prepare vegetable and fruit dishes with the help of steam so my baby's stomach isn't affected by the fried food. And also now I don't have to use a lot of different pots and pans to prepare something. I have all the options combined in my little food maker.

Yes, I agree that this babycook is a tiny one, but as for me, its basket is enough to prepare a dish once. I can't see why they have to steam a lot of vegetables and then put them in the freezer: the vitamins are gone! Its size is even pros: I can place it just everywhere.

It's simple to use. Te manual explains everything and there is also a little cookbook in a set. I tried some recipes from it. After I use the food maker I clean it, move away the skins and it's ready to be used again.

Sometimes I even re-heat adult food in the babycook instead of using the microwave. I believe it's healthier. Defrosting is possible too, but I haven't tried yet. I also use it as a blender because I still don't have one (I think it's unnecessary to buy a blender cause it's needed once a year).

My friend advised me to use distilled water for the babycook. She said it prevents the appearance of deposits in the basket.

I think the capacity is just enough for this gadget. It economies the electricity! Once the foodmaker fell from the counter but it wasn't even damaged. After the accident I've found the line in the manual which said the food maker was made from some unbreakable materials.
