Hands-on Review: Canon PowerShot SX20IS

I'm the one of those lucky men who owns Canon SX20. I'm not that kind of professional photographer, but photo art is my great passion for a long time. So I've already tried a lot of different cameras and I know how they have to operate.

So the SX20 was my best purchase. I realized that when I made my first shot. First of all, it doesn't matter from where you make photo. You can shoot from any angle. 2.5-inch Vari-Angle LCD makes it easy to create exciting photos in any position. This high-resolution screen shows you clear and pure picture of what you are going to shoot or what you have already shot. I've recently discovered the possibility to look through photos at night or in low light.

And the SX20 is very easy to hold in a hand. I got used to the feeling of it in my hand in about couple days.

By the way video format is very convenient. I found out that I can upload my video almost on every website without making any changes. Every modern media player easily plays my videos.

What I also like is that canon SX20 needs AA batteries. Why is that good? As for me, I bought rechargeable batteries and now I shouldn't worry about the charge. I can control that and each time I know I'll travel somewhere I recharge the batteries and they are ready to help me for a long time.

For myself I have discovered numerous shooting modes (to be exact - 24). I can experiment with my photos and in that way I express even more feelings in a shot.

The Canon PowerShot SX20 IS has an option I like a lot. It's Smart AUTO. I myself don't use it to make photos. But I teach my children to shoot with the help of Smart AUTO. The required settings are set automatically and I at the same time teach my kids how to choose the shot subject and how to make a photo impressionable and so on.

I connected my Canon PowerShot SX20 IS to our home HDTV and showed my family videos I made. By the way, not every camera can record 1280 x 720 pixels video. Canon SX20 can!
