I decided to make myself a pleasant present and purchased a new Nikon D300s. I thought that this unit will just upgrade my previous camera a little, but as I started to use it, I realized that this device is more that a custom camera. The quality is very high. As usually Nikon didn't disappoint me. Its product is as usually very simple to use, has a lot of options.

Before I bought Nikon D300s I had read a lot of staff, descriptions and reviews. I should say that the reality is the same as users described it. Image sensor I like the best. 12.3 megapixels isn't the most important criterium. Though DX-format CMOS image sensor really impresses me constantly.

As professional photographs know: shooting speed and response are very important, to get a quality shot. Nikon D300s includes both qualities: high speed shooting and very quick response.

As for me, I bought Nikon D300s not only to shoot, but to make video too. The first time I tried to record something I didn't do that well, because the settings weren't set up right and so on. But then, after I've searched the manual and discovered some new information, I made almost a Hollywood-quality short film.

Nikon D300s can capture every moment of your life clearly. 24 fps, 720p HD movie clips will be gladding your family. The example is my family. We tape every holiday and then enjoy the video.

The last time I made shots, I used actively Handheld and Tripod Live View modes. I made them work with just one button. And one more thing: autofocus. It's quick and accurate - that's what needed.

And the monitor, oh boy, you'd definitely love it! 3-inch Super-density 920,000-dot VGA LCD Monitor is an every camera owner dream! You can increase the image to be sure every detail was captured excellently. The accuracy impresses!

Oh, an example from my own experience: I was out of card memory once. That's why since then, I fill both memory card slots (CF and SD). And one more noticeable advantage: there is a special Dynamic Integrated Dust Reduction System. It destroys the dust, which is accumulated in front of the image sensor. That's why the image-quality is saved.
