Hands-on Review: Olympus PEN E-P1Digital Camera
My boyfriend gave me E-P1 for my birthday. I should say I was really excited! My excitement lasts until today. I think this camera was developed specially for women. It's portable and compact, so I can put it in my bag and take everywhere with me to capture absolutely every important moment of my life. The exact size is 4.75 x 2.75 x 1.43 inches. The same as they put in the manual.
Moreover the camera is so smart and elegant. So I talk about it like about a person. The camera's body is stainless-steel. It's easy to find a right position for a camera in your hand.
A great advantage of this digital Olympus E-P1 is that it's a mix of all required functions. You can shoot great pictures with 12.3-megapixel interchangeable lens system and you can make brilliant video.
My friends at first said that this tiny camera isn't able to shoot outstanding images. They said it will do the same, all cameras of its class do. But they were surprised when I showed them my photos made with the Olympus E-P1. Now I believe that even a small body can contain numerous brilliant options and possibilities!
Another thing I've found out after I was given this stunning gift is that there is In-body Image Stabilization. This mode does its work well. It really helps to avoid blurs even when you're in action yourself. For example, when you're in a guide-tram having an excursion and you want to capture some exciting buildings of a new city.
3-inch full color HyperCrystal LCD shows me my shots very clearly. Live Control function is an upgraded option which allows composing and editing shots without any interruptions (e.g. you need to get access to a menu immediately).
There is one thing I don't like completely: the auto-focus. I think it could be improved and made better. I don't want to say that it's terrible, but something should be added to make it really high-quality.
So I think this unit is very comfortable, useful and practical. In my opinion it's worth its money and you'll get a lot of satisfaction when working with it.
